If ever there has been a field of construction that is misunderstood... This is it!

There is a perception that anyone with a machine can powerwash your home. That follows
the same logic that anyone with a clothes washer can take care of your clothes. If there is one
thing that I have learned in my marriage it's this...
"NOT EVERYTHING CAN GO IN THE WASHER!!!"

In the same way, the exterior of your home has many different parts. Many of those parts
require different techniques and different cleaners. There are companies out there that
advertise, "Any home washed for $100!!" I have seen the results of these contractors
and unfortunately for the homeowner, they can be downright disastrous. I don't mean to imply
that even the best powerwashing company can't have an accident, or that every $100 guy in
a pickup will destroy your property. Obviously, neither is 100% true.

When the time comes to have your home washed it is imperative that you use a qualified
contractor that is fully insured. Require any powerwashing contractor to provide you with
proof of insurance BEFORE you sign a contract, and before they start the job. Property
damage caused by unqualified companies include broken window seals, broken or damaged
siding, and decks that are ruined beyond repair, just to name a few. If you use an unisured
company, or "a friend" you may be calling me, or someone like me, to repair the damage they
cause at your cost.
