Improperly installed vinyl siding has a way of blowing off in the most mild of breezes.
Hardi-Plank, masonite, and fiber board siding will rot very quickly if it is not properly
sealed and painted every few years. My advice is to keep your eyes open. Maintaining
your home is the most important thing you can do (next to keeping your family safe).
Siding left to rot because you think you cannot afford to fix it, will inevitably lead to more serious
damage. There is a whole world of bugs that just love to munch on wet wood. Once they
get a taste of your siding, chances are, they will want a taste of the framing beneath it.

Caught early, it is relatively inexpensive to replace a course or two of siding. Let it go and
the problem can be much, much worse. Take a walk around your home occasionaly. Look
for signs of water damage, or anything that doesn't look "right". Take care of it sooner
rather than later, you can't afford not to.
